Car PPF Melbourne

Car PPF in Melbourne, Matched to Your Vehicle

The right car PPF depends on what you drive and where it gets hit. A tall SUV bonnet meets highway spray square on, a ute cops gravel and loads on the tray edges, and a hatchback mostly needs its door edges and boot lip covered. Liquid R fits PPF to every body type at our Mitcham workshop, priced by panel area: headlights from $180, a wear and tear pack from $380, full fronts from $1980 and full body film at $5980.

Below is how coverage usually works out for each type of car. Call 1800 985 880 or text 0483 930 888 and we will quote the coverage that suits yours.

SUV PPF

An SUV bonnet is broad, flat and tall, so it takes highway gravel head on instead of deflecting it. A full front is the usual starting point, and the rear bumper loading lip is worth a clear patch because prams, eskies and dog crates scrape it daily. More detail on SUV paint protection.

Ute PPF

Gravel peppers a ute rather than chipping it, and the tray end gets the tie-down hooks, ladders and timber. Film across the front plus the tailgate lip, tub rails and bedside tops keeps both ends presentable. See ute paint protection.

4WD PPF and Bushwrapz

Scrub scratches the doors, guards and quarters, and corrugations turn the car in front into a gravel launcher. For touring we fit Bushwrapz, a thicker film made for Australian off-roading. The full picture is on the 4WD protection page.

Sedan PPF

Sedans sit lower, so the bumper and bonnet leading edge take most of the stones, with mirrors close behind. A full front covers it, and door edge film handles tight car parks. Detail on sedan paint protection.

Hatchback PPF

On a small car the front is cheaper to cover, and most damage happens around the doors and the boot lip. A wear and tear pack from $380 plus headlight film is a sensible budget setup. See hatchback paint protection.

Wagon PPF

Wagons get loaded more than any other body type, so the rear bumper and boot ledge are as important as the nose. A front pack with the wear and tear pack covers both ends of the car. See wagon paint protection.

EV PPF

Electric cars carry extra weight and often have soft factory paint, so the first chips can show within weeks of delivery. Many owners go straight to full body film. Glass roofs get Crystal Shield, a clear film from $350 that cuts heat soak. See EV paint protection.

Prestige and Performance PPF

Wide front intakes, carbon trim and paint that is expensive to match push most owners of these cars toward full body film. We look after everything from AMG and M cars to exotics. See supercar paint protection and our make and model guides.

Commuter Cars on the Freeway

Whatever the body type, daily freeway driving is what decides coverage. Sitting behind traffic at 100 km/h is the recipe for a chipped bonnet edge and a pitted bumper. If you do EastLink, the Monash or the Eastern every weekday, start with the full front.

Boats, Bikes and Caravans

The same film protects more than cars: boat hulls and gelcoat against fender rub, motorcycle tanks against jacket zips, and caravan fronts against stone spray when towing. See boat paint protection.

Patterns for Every Model

Whatever the body type, film is plotter cut from a pattern for your exact model, and anything without a pattern is templated in the workshop. No blade is run across your paint, and edges are wrapped rather than cut short.

Common Questions

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers before you book. Anything else, call 1800 985 880.

What PPF coverage suits an SUV?

A full front from $1980 covers the bonnet, bumper, guards and mirrors, which is where an SUV takes most stone damage. A clear patch on the rear loading lip is a cheap addition for families.

Is PPF worth it on a small car?

Usually the wear and tear pack from $380 and headlight film from $180 give the best value on a small car. Add a full front if the car does regular freeway driving.

Do you fit PPF to utes and 4WDs?

Yes. Utes and 4WDs come through every week, including Bushwrapz kits for touring vehicles and film on tray rails and tailgate edges for work utes.

Does PPF cost more on a bigger car?

Yes, because film is priced by panel area. An SUV or ute front takes more film and labour than a hatchback front, so the quote reflects the car.

Can PPF go on an electric car?

Yes, and EVs are among the cars that benefit most because of their soft factory paint. Glass roofs can be protected with Crystal Shield film from $350.
