PPF Wrap Melbourne

PPF Wraps in Melbourne: Full Body and Front End

A PPF wrap covers a car in clear protection film, panel by panel, so stone chips, car park scuffs and bird droppings land on the film instead of the paint. Liquid R fits full body PPF wraps for $5980 and front end PPF wraps from $1980 at our Mitcham workshop, in clear gloss or in stealth satin film that turns gloss paint into a satin finish.

Every wrap uses patterns cut for your model, edges are wrapped around the panel rather than trimmed short, and the work stays indoors from start to finish. Call 1800 985 880 or text 0483 930 888 to book a wrap.

Full Body PPF Wrap

Every painted panel wrapped in clear film: bonnet, roof, doors, sills, quarters and both bumpers. Done well, the wrap is close to invisible and the paint underneath stays as it was the week the car was delivered. A full body wrap is $5980 for most cars and takes about a week, with larger vehicles quoted individually. Exotic cars usually go this way, see supercar paint protection.

Front End PPF Wrap

The bonnet, front bumper, guards and mirrors take almost every stone a Melbourne freeway throws up. A front end wrap from $1980 covers that strike zone in about two days. Add the wear and tear pack from $380 for door edges, cups and the boot ledge. Every coverage level is listed on the PPF prices page. There are more reasons to fit PPF than stone chips.

Stealth Satin PPF Wrap

A stealth wrap uses satin film to change a gloss car to a satin finish without changing the colour. It also protects factory matte paint that can never be polished, such as BMW frozen finishes. The film takes the damage and self-heals, so the satin stays even. See matte and satin PPF for the finishes we fit.

Coloured PPF Wraps

If you want a new colour as well as protection, the same wrap can be done in Spectra Colour PPF. Full colour wraps start at $6980 and take five to seven working days. Finishes and the reasons we do not do vinyl are on our car wraps page.

Edges Wrapped, Not Cut Short

The weak point of any PPF wrap is the edge. Where a panel allows it, film is wrapped around the edge and finished on the inside, so there is no visible line and nothing for a pressure washer or a car wash brush to lift. Edges that are trimmed short on the face of the panel are where cheap wraps start to peel.

Precut Patterns for Your Model

Patterns are plotter cut for your exact make and model before the film goes near the car, so no blade is run across your paint. Where no pattern exists, we template the panel in the workshop. Precut work is also faster, which keeps a full body wrap to about a week.

Paint Prep Before Wrapping

Film locks in whatever is underneath it, so the car is decontaminated first and older paint is machine polished, from $850, to remove swirls before wrapping. A new car straight from the dealer usually needs only a light polish. Our cut and polish page explains what correction can and cannot fix.

Living With a PPF Wrap

Wash it like a coated car: pH neutral shampoo, a soft mitt, no brush car washes, and keep the pressure washer a hand span from film edges. Light scratches and wash marks in the top layer relax back out with sun or warm water. A ceramic layer over the wrap, $650 at fitting time, keeps it releasing dirt for years.

3M paint protection film warranty cards

Wrap Warranty

The film maker warrants the film against yellowing, cracking, bubbling and delamination, and we cover the installation in writing. Both are handed over at pickup with care instructions, and every wrap includes a free check in the first month to look over the edges. What to ask about warranties is in our PPF buyer’s guide.

Common Questions

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers before you book. Anything else, call 1800 985 880.

How much is a full PPF wrap in Melbourne?

A full body clear PPF wrap is $5980 for most cars at Liquid R. Larger vehicles and complex bodywork are quoted individually. Front end wraps start at $1980.

How long does a full body PPF wrap take?

About a week in the workshop. A front end wrap is about two days.

Can you see a PPF wrap on the car?

Clear gloss film is very hard to spot once fitted, because edges are wrapped and patterns are cut for the model. Satin film is meant to be seen, since it changes the finish from gloss to satin.

Does a PPF wrap turn yellow?

Quality film is UV stable and warranted against yellowing by its maker. Yellowing is a problem of budget films and old film technology, which is why we only fit warranted brands.

Can a used car get a PPF wrap?

Yes. The paint is inspected, decontaminated and machine polished where needed, then wrapped. Deep chips are best repaired first, because film protects the surface it covers rather than hiding damage.
