PPF Melbourne

PPF in Melbourne: Packs, Prices and Films

PPF, or paint protection film, is the clear urethane layer that takes stone chips so your paint does not. At Liquid R in Mitcham, PPF starts at $180 for headlight film and runs to $5980 for every painted panel. Most Melbourne drivers land in between: a wear and tear pack from $380, or a full front from $1980 covering the bonnet, bumper, guards and mirrors.

Each level is a fixed price quoted before you book, fitted with patterns cut for your exact model, and backed by the film maker’s warranty plus our own written workmanship cover. Call 1800 985 880 or text 0483 930 888 for a price on your car.

Headlight protection film being fitted to a red Audi

Headlight PPF from $180

Polycarbonate headlight lenses yellow in UV and pit on gravel roads, and replacement units on a modern car can cost more than a full front of film. A precut clear layer keeps them clear and is fitted in under an hour while you wait. More on headlight protection film.

Paint protection film being trimmed on a panel

Wear and Tear Pack from $380

Door cups, door edges and the boot ledge: the spots every car scratches however carefully it is driven, and the first places a trade-in inspector looks. This pack is the cheapest way to keep a car looking cared for, and it is the most common add-on to a front end booking.

Full Front PPF from $1980

Bonnet, front bumper, guards and mirrors in self-healing film, about two days in the workshop. Freeway gravel lands almost entirely on the front third of a car, which is why this is the level most daily drivers choose. It is also built into Pack 4 of our new car protection packages alongside coating and tint.

Full Body PPF to $5980

Every painted panel covered, so doors, sills and the rear bumper get the same protection as the nose. Full body film suits new deliveries, factory option colours that would be expensive to match, and cars you plan to keep for a long time. Allow about a week in the bay. How a whole car is covered is explained under PPF wraps.

Build Your Own PPF Pack

Some owners want one panel, not a pack. Bonnet only, bumper only, or the A pillars and roof edge for high kilometre commuters are all quoted per car. Tell us how the car is driven and parked, and we will suggest the smallest coverage that covers the damage you actually get.

Which PPF Brands We Fit

Clear gloss and satin films come from Defcon Films Australia first, with STEK as the second range. STEK DYNO series films carry a ten year warranty against delamination, yellowing, bubbling and cracking, extendable to twelve years with the maker’s own ceramic top coat. The warranty comes from the film maker and the installation is backed by us. Our guide to the best PPF covers what to check before booking anywhere.

What Moves a PPF Quote

Panel area sets the base. Shape does the rest: a deep bumper full of sensors, vents and tow hook covers takes far more film and labour than a flat bonnet, so two cars on the same pack can quote hundreds apart. Paint condition matters too. Swirled or resprayed paint is machine polished first, from $850, because film shows whatever sits under it.

Is PPF Worth It?

If the car does freeway kilometres, usually yes. One repainted bumper costs more than a wear and tear pack, and a chipped bonnet edge is the first thing that drags down a trade-in price. If the car lives in a garage and mostly sits, a ceramic coating may be the better first spend. Our PPF vs ceramic coating guide walks through the choice. Our article is car paint protection worth it looks at the numbers.

Common Questions

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers before you book. Anything else, call 1800 985 880.

How much is PPF in Melbourne?

At Liquid R, PPF starts at $180 for headlight film. A wear and tear pack starts at $380, a full front at $1980, and full body clear film is $5980. Larger vehicles and complex bodywork are quoted individually, always as a fixed total before booking.

How long does PPF take to fit?

Headlight film takes under an hour. Small coverage such as door cups is done within the day, a full front is about two days, and a full body wrap is about a week.

How long does PPF last?

Quality film is warranted by its maker for years. STEK DYNO films, for example, carry a ten year warranty against yellowing, bubbling and cracking. With sensible washing, film serves out that period comfortably.

Should I get PPF or a ceramic coating?

PPF stops stone chips. A ceramic coating makes the car easier to clean and keeps the gloss, but does nothing against impacts. Many owners put film on the front and a coating over the rest, which our new car packages bundle.

Can PPF go on a car that is not new?

Yes. Older paint is inspected first and usually machine polished so the film seals a clean finish. Existing chips are best touched up beforehand, because film protects what is underneath rather than hiding it.
