Hatchback Paint Protection

Hatchback Paint Protection in Melbourne

Hatchbacks fight the city all day: tight parking, door swings in narrow spots, bumpers used as measuring tools by other drivers. And the hot hatch end of the family adds track days and back road runs to the damage list. Our Mitcham workshop protects everything from a first car Corolla to a weekend GR Yaris with paint protection film, ceramic coating and window tinting. City Parking Wear

A hatchback lives nose to tail with other cars. Bumper corners get scuffed by parallel parkers, door edges meet pillars in tight structures and handle cups collect fingernail scratches. Edge film, corner patches and handle protection cover the contact points for a fraction of a respray.

Hot Hatch Front Ends

A Hyundai i30 N, Volkswagen Golf R or Toyota GR Yaris gets driven the way it was built to be, and back roads feed stones into a low nose constantly. Full fronts from $1980 in self-healing film keep the paint stock while the kilometres pile on.

Short Bonnets Cop More

Geometry works against a hatchback: a short, steep bonnet sits closer to the car ahead and presents more vertical face to thrown stones. The bonnet leading edge and lower bumper carry most strikes, which is why even a partial film package on those zones changes what the car looks like at three years old.

Ceramic for the Weekly Wash

Small car, quick wash, if the paint lets you. A ceramic coating from $980 means city grime and brake dust rinse off instead of bonding, and a hatch is small enough that the full decontamination and polish stage stays affordable. Graphene upgrades are available.

Tint That Earns Its Keep

Hatchback glass is close to the occupants, so cabin heat spikes fast in traffic. Metal free window tint from $495 in Victorian legal shades keeps the cabin usable in summer, cuts glare through the big rear screen and blocks over 99 percent of UV.

Hatches We See Weekly

Toyota Corollas and Yaris, Mazda 3s, Hyundai i30s, Volkswagen Golfs and Kia Ceratos make up the weekly bread and butter, plus the hot versions of all of them. Every make and model gets quoted on its own panels.

Colour and Matte Options

Hatchbacks suit personality. A colour transformation in Spectra Colour PPF changes the look while protecting the paint underneath, and matte film gives a factory satin finish that never needs polishing. Both are removable, so the original paint stays an asset.

First Car and New Car Packs

Plenty of hatchbacks are first cars, and a first car deserves to survive its first owner. Our new car protection packages start at $1090 with coating, interior protection and tint in one visit, plus aftercare instructions simple enough to actually follow. The same packs suit a sedan, an SUV or a ute.

Common Questions

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers before you book. Anything else, call 1800 985 880.

Is paint protection worth it on a cheap hatchback?

Match the spend to the car. A coating and edge film package costs a few hundred dollars and keeps a five year old hatch looking cared for, which shows up directly in private sale price. A full body wrap on a base model rarely makes sense, and we will say so.

What do you recommend for a GR Yaris or i30 N?

Full front as the baseline, splitter and sill coverage if it sees spirited driving, and ceramic over the top so brake dust and bugs wash off. Track day owners often add door and guard coverage for stone rash from following their mates.

Can you fix existing bumper corner scuffs before filming?

Light scuffs polish out during preparation and clear coat scratches mostly disappear. Damage through to the plastic needs a bumper repair first, and film then keeps the repaired corner from happening again.

Does a plug in hybrid hatch need anything different?

No, the paint is the same. The only practical difference is charge port surround wear from cable handling, and a small film patch there deals with it.

How long does a hatchback ceramic coating take?

Usually one to two days including decontamination and machine polish. Smaller panels mean a hatch sits at the shorter end of the range compared with an SUV or ute.
