PPF South Melbourne

PPF near South Melbourne

South Melbourne drivers come to Liquid R in Mitcham for PPF. The workshop is about 27.7 km from South Melbourne, roughly 40 minutes by car outside peak hour. PPF, the clear film that stops stone chips, starts at $180 for headlights and runs to $5980 for every painted panel, with a full front from $1980.

The film is a clear urethane layer with a self-healing top coat, so light scratches relax out in the sun. We fit it in our own indoor bays, with the maker’s warranty on the film and ours on the installation, plus a free check in the first month.

Every quote is a fixed figure before the car is booked, and it is the same whichever suburb you come from. Call 1800 985 880 or text 0483 930 888 to book.

Washing a Filmed Car

pH neutral shampoo, a soft mitt, no brush car washes, and keep the pressure washer a hand span from film edges. Bird droppings and sap should come off promptly, and stubborn water spots come out at our counter in minutes. The full routine is on our aftercare page.

Full Front PPF from $1980

Bonnet, front bumper, guards and mirrors in self-healing film, about two days in the workshop. Freeway gravel lands almost entirely on the front third of a car, which is why most daily drivers stop here.

Freeway Kilometres on CityLink

Coming from South Melbourne usually means time on CityLink. Sitting behind traffic at freeway speed is the classic recipe for a chipped bonnet edge and a pitted bumper, which is why a full front is where most commuters start.

Satin and Stealth PPF

Satin film turns gloss paint into a satin finish without changing the colour, and it protects factory matte paint that can never be polished. The film takes the scratches and heals light marks, so the finish stays even.

Precut Patterns, No Blades on Paint

Film patterns are plotter cut for your exact make and model before the film touches the car, so no blade runs across your paint. Edges are wrapped rather than trimmed short, which is why they do not lift at the car wash later. Every PPF wrap is finished this way.

One Workshop, in Mitcham

Let us be straight: Mitcham is not around the corner from South Melbourne. What you get for the drive is indoor bays, inspection lighting and our own team on your car, rather than a van in a car park. More about who we are, and if you are comparing shops, our guide to the best PPF in Melbourne lists what to check.

How Long the Car Stays

Headlight film is under an hour, a full front about two days and full body film about a week. Because of the distance, we plan the work so the car needs one drop-off and one pickup, even when several jobs are booked together. We confirm the timing when you book.

PPF on Utes, 4WDs and EVs

Utes get film on tray rails and tailgate edges, 4WD tourers get thicker Bushwrapz film, and electric cars with soft factory paint often go straight to full body film. Glass roofs can take Crystal Shield from $350.

Common Questions

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers before you book. Anything else, call 1800 985 880.

How far is Liquid R from South Melbourne?

The workshop at 12/23A Cook Road, Mitcham is about 27.7 km from South Melbourne, roughly 40 minutes by car outside peak hour.

Is pricing different for South Melbourne?

No. Every price is the same wherever you live. The quote depends on the car and the work, never the postcode.

Do you come to me, or do I bring the car in?

Every job is done at our Mitcham workshop. Film, coatings and tint need clean indoor bays and proper lighting, which a driveway cannot give, and that is what our results depend on.

Can you see PPF once it is fitted?

Clear gloss film is very hard to spot because edges are wrapped and patterns are cut for the model.

Does PPF turn yellow?

Quality film is UV stable and warranted against yellowing by its maker. Yellowing is a problem of budget film.
