PPF Port Melbourne

PPF near Port Melbourne

Liquid R serves Port Melbourne and the rest of inner Melbourne from one workshop in Mitcham, about 30.7 km away and roughly 45 minutes by car outside peak hour. PPF, the clear film that stops stone chips, starts at $180 for headlights and runs to $5980 for every painted panel, with a full front from $1980.

Most drivers start with a full front: bonnet, bumper, guards and mirrors in self-healing film, fitted from patterns cut for the exact model so no blade touches the paint. Clear gloss and satin films come from Defcon Films Australia first and STEK second, and both are warranted in writing.

Every quote is a fixed figure before the car is booked, and it is the same whichever suburb you come from. Call 1800 985 880 or text 0483 930 888 to book.

Washing a Filmed Car

pH neutral shampoo, a soft mitt, no brush car washes, and keep the pressure washer a hand span from film edges. Bird droppings and sap should come off promptly, and stubborn water spots come out at our counter in minutes. The full routine is on our aftercare page.

Two Warranties, Both in Writing

The film maker covers the film against yellowing, cracking and delamination, and we cover the installation. Both are handed over at pickup with care instructions, so you know who stands behind what.

Salt Air and Paint in Port Melbourne

Salt air near the bay leaves a film on paint that turns gritty as it dries, and every wash then drags it across the surface. Film takes that wear instead of the clear coat, and a ceramic layer on top keeps it rinsing clean.

Satin and Stealth PPF

Satin film turns gloss paint into a satin finish without changing the colour, and it protects factory matte paint that can never be polished. The film takes the scratches and heals light marks, so the finish stays even.

Coating Over the Film

A ceramic layer applied over the film in the same booking costs $650. Water sheets off, road grime releases with less scrubbing, and the film keeps its gloss between washes.

One Workshop, in Mitcham

Let us be straight: Mitcham is not around the corner from Port Melbourne. What you get for the drive is indoor bays, inspection lighting and our own team on your car, rather than a van in a car park. More about who we are, and if you are comparing shops, our guide to the best PPF in Melbourne lists what to check.

Planning the Visit

Headlight film is under an hour, a full front about two days and full body film about a week. Because of the distance, we plan the work so the car needs one drop-off and one pickup, even when several jobs are booked together. We confirm the timing when you book.

Full Body PPF at $5980

Every painted panel in clear film, so doors, sills and the rear bumper get what the nose gets. It suits new deliveries, expensive factory colours and cars you plan to keep. Allow about a week.

Common Questions

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers before you book. Anything else, call 1800 985 880.

How far is Liquid R from Port Melbourne?

The workshop at 12/23A Cook Road, Mitcham is about 30.7 km from Port Melbourne, roughly 45 minutes by car outside peak hour.

Is pricing different for Port Melbourne?

No. Every price is the same wherever you live. The quote depends on the car and the work, never the postcode.

Do you come to me, or do I bring the car in?

Every job is done at our Mitcham workshop. Film, coatings and tint need clean indoor bays and proper lighting, which a driveway cannot give, and that is what our results depend on.

How long does PPF take?

Headlight film is under an hour, small coverage is done within the day, a full front is about two days and full body film is about a week.

Can PPF go on a used car?

Yes. The paint is decontaminated and machine polished where needed first, then filmed.
