PPF Carlton

PPF for Carlton Drivers

Carlton drivers come to Liquid R in Mitcham for PPF. The workshop is about 25.1 km from Carlton, roughly 35 minutes by car outside peak hour. PPF, the clear film that stops stone chips, starts at $180 for headlights and runs to $5980 for every painted panel, with a full front from $1980.

Most drivers start with a full front: bonnet, bumper, guards and mirrors in self-healing film, fitted from patterns cut for the exact model so no blade touches the paint. Clear gloss and satin films come from Defcon Films Australia first and STEK second, and both are warranted in writing.

Customers from Carlton pay the same as everyone else, because the price follows the car and the work. Call 1800 985 880 or text 0483 930 888 to book.

Getting Here from Carlton

Allow roughly 35 minutes from Carlton outside peak hour. The route is about 25.1 km via Eastern Freeway, ending at 12/23A Cook Road, Mitcham, where there is parking out the front. Directions and opening hours are on our contact page.

PPF on Utes, 4WDs and EVs

Utes get film on tray rails and tailgate edges, 4WD tourers get thicker Bushwrapz film, and electric cars with soft factory paint often go straight to full body film. Glass roofs can take Crystal Shield from $350.

Coating Over the Film

A ceramic layer applied over the film in the same booking costs $650. Water sheets off, road grime releases with less scrubbing, and the film keeps its gloss between washes.

Freeway Kilometres on Eastern Freeway

Coming from Carlton usually means time on Eastern Freeway. Sitting behind traffic at freeway speed is the classic recipe for a chipped bonnet edge and a pitted bumper, which is why a full front is where most commuters start.

Washing a Filmed Car

pH neutral shampoo, a soft mitt, no brush car washes, and keep the pressure washer a hand span from film edges. Bird droppings and sap should come off promptly, and stubborn water spots come out at our counter in minutes. The full routine is on our aftercare page.

PPF or Ceramic Coating

Film stops stone chips. A ceramic coating makes the car easier to wash and holds the gloss, but does nothing against impacts. Plenty of owners run film on the front and a coating over the rest. Our PPF vs ceramic coating guide compares them.

Carlton Customers, One Workshop

We are not a mobile service and we do not have a Carlton shopfront. The work is done in Mitcham because PPF needs dust-free bays, inspection lighting and time, all of which a driveway lacks. More about who we are, and if you are comparing shops, our guide to the best PPF in Melbourne lists what to check.

Planning the Visit

Headlight film is under an hour, a full front about two days and full body film about a week. We agree the drop-off and pickup times with you up front, so a trip from Carlton fits your week rather than the other way round. We are open weekdays 8:30am to 5:00pm and Saturdays to 12:30pm.

How Self-Healing Film Works

PPF is urethane with an elastic top coat, one of the products and technologies we work with. Light scratches and wash marks sit in that top layer, and warmth from the sun or warm water relaxes them back out. A cut through the film is the damage that would otherwise have been in your paint.

Common Questions

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers before you book. Anything else, call 1800 985 880.

How far is Liquid R from Carlton?

The workshop at 12/23A Cook Road, Mitcham is about 25.1 km from Carlton, roughly 35 minutes by car outside peak hour.

Do Carlton customers pay the same price?

No. Every price is the same wherever you live. The quote depends on the car and the work, never the postcode.

Do you come to me, or do I bring the car in?

Every job is done at our Mitcham workshop. Film, coatings and tint need clean indoor bays and proper lighting, which a driveway cannot give, and that is what our results depend on.

Can you see PPF once it is fitted?

Clear gloss film is very hard to spot because edges are wrapped and patterns are cut for the model.

Should I get PPF or a ceramic coating?

Film stops stone chips and a coating makes the car easier to keep clean. Many owners do film on the front and a coating over the rest.
