Exterior Detailing

Full decontamination, then staged machine correction, what most Australians call a cut and polish, to cut back swirl marks, light scratches and oxidation before polishing to a deep gloss. It changes how the paint reads in daylight.

How Long a Detail Takes

A maintenance detail is usually a day. Correction runs one to three days depending on the paint. We would rather keep the car an extra morning than hand back a rushed panel. Show cars get more time again, see prestige car detailing.

Commuter Car Grime

Daily runs on Burwood Highway leave iron particles and brake dust bonded to the paint and wheels. A proper detail removes them before they etch, and a coating afterwards slows the build-up.

Wheels and Calipers

Brake dust bakes onto wheels and calipers first. After cleaning we can apply a high temperature wheel ceramic, $60 per wheel, so the dust rinses off between details.

Water Spot Removal

Mineral rings from sprinklers and summer rain etch into paint and glass if they sit. Fresh spots wash off, older ones need a dedicated remover or a polish, and we tell you which before we start. Our washing dos and don’ts help stop them coming back.

Why Customers Come to Us

We are not a mobile service and we do not have a Glen Iris shopfront. The work is done in Mitcham because car detailing needs dust-free bays, inspection lighting and time, all of which a driveway lacks. More about who we are, and if you are comparing shops, our guide to the best car detailing in Melbourne lists what to check.

Booking and Turnaround

A maintenance detail is usually a day, and correction runs one to three days. For Glen Iris customers we line up drop-off and pickup times when you book, so you know exactly which days the car is with us. We are open weekdays 8:30am to 5:00pm and Saturdays to 12:30pm.

Interior Detailing

Carpets and mats extracted, leather cleaned and fed, vents and switchgear brushed out. Sunscreen film on plastics and coffee in the console both come out, and the cabin leaves smelling of nothing. Why it is worth doing properly is covered in the benefits of a premium detail.

Common Questions

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers before you book. Anything else, call 1800 985 880.

How far is Liquid R from Glen Iris?

The workshop at 12/23A Cook Road, Mitcham is about 18.2 km from Glen Iris, roughly 30 minutes by car outside peak hour.

Do Glen Iris customers pay the same price?

No. Every price is the same wherever you live. The quote depends on the car and the work, never the postcode.

Do you come to me, or do I bring the car in?

Every job is done at our Mitcham workshop. Film, coatings and tint need clean indoor bays and proper lighting, which a driveway cannot give, and that is what our results depend on.

How often should a car be detailed?

A protected, sensibly washed car needs a maintenance detail once or twice a year. Cars parked outside benefit from more.

How long does a full detail take?

A maintenance detail is usually a day. Correction work runs one to three days depending on the paint.
