PPF Hawthorn

PPF Hawthorn: Fitted in Mitcham

Liquid R serves Hawthorn and the rest of Melbourne’s east from one workshop in Mitcham, about 17.1 km away and roughly 30 minutes by car outside peak hour. PPF, the clear film that stops stone chips, starts at $180 for headlights and runs to $5980 for every painted panel, with a full front from $1980.

The film is a clear urethane layer with a self-healing top coat, so light scratches relax out in the sun. We fit it in our own indoor bays, with the maker’s warranty on the film and ours on the installation, plus a free check in the first month.

Every quote is a fixed figure before the car is booked, and it is the same whichever suburb you come from. Call 1800 985 880 or text 0483 930 888 to book.

The Drive from Hawthorn

From Hawthorn the workshop at 12/23A Cook Road, Mitcham is about 17.1 km away, roughly 30 minutes via Mont Albert Road outside peak hour. There is parking on site and a bay booked for your arrival. Hawthorn is on the same train line as us: Mitcham and Heatherdale stations are each about 1.5 km from the workshop, so leaving the car and taking the train home works. Directions and opening hours are on our contact page.

Full Front PPF from $1980

Bonnet, front bumper, guards and mirrors in self-healing film, about two days in the workshop. Freeway gravel lands almost entirely on the front third of a car, which is why most daily drivers stop here.

Satin and Stealth PPF

Satin film turns gloss paint into a satin finish without changing the colour, and it protects factory matte paint that can never be polished. The film takes the scratches and heals light marks, so the finish stays even.

Car Park Knocks and Stone Chips

Local driving brings its own damage: door edges tapped in shopping centre car parks, handle cups scratched by rings, and stones from the car in front. A wear and tear pack from $380 covers the first two.

Free Check in the First Month

Every film job includes a free inspection in the first month to look over the edges, and we suggest a yearly check after that. Booking it takes a phone call.

Headlight Film from $180

Polycarbonate headlight lenses yellow and pit, and a modern headlight unit can cost more than a full front of film. Precut clear film keeps them clear and goes on in under an hour while you wait.

One Workshop, in Mitcham

Liquid R has one workshop, in Mitcham, and Hawthorn customers come to it. That is deliberate: PPF work needs clean indoor bays and proper lighting that a mobile setup cannot match, and every job is done by our own team. More about who we are, and if you are comparing shops, our guide to the best PPF in Melbourne lists what to check.

Planning the Visit

Headlight film is under an hour, a full front about two days and full body film about a week. For Hawthorn customers we line up drop-off and pickup times when you book, so you know exactly which days the car is with us. We are open weekdays 8:30am to 5:00pm and Saturdays to 12:30pm.

Washing a Filmed Car

pH neutral shampoo, a soft mitt, no brush car washes, and keep the pressure washer a hand span from film edges. Bird droppings and sap should come off promptly, and stubborn water spots come out at our counter in minutes. The full routine is on our aftercare page.

Common Questions

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers before you book. Anything else, call 1800 985 880.

How far is Liquid R from Hawthorn?

The workshop at 12/23A Cook Road, Mitcham is about 17.1 km from Hawthorn, roughly 30 minutes by car outside peak hour.

Do Hawthorn customers pay the same price?

No. Every price is the same wherever you live. The quote depends on the car and the work, never the postcode.

Do you come to me, or do I bring the car in?

Every job is done at our Mitcham workshop. Film, coatings and tint need clean indoor bays and proper lighting, which a driveway cannot give, and that is what our results depend on.

How much is PPF?

Headlight film starts at $180, the wear and tear pack at $380, a full front at $1980 and full body clear film is $5980. Larger vehicles and complex bodywork are quoted individually.

Can PPF go on a used car?

Yes. The paint is decontaminated and machine polished where needed first, then filmed.
