From Hawthorn the workshop at 12/23A Cook Road, Mitcham is about 17.1 km away, roughly 30 minutes via Mont Albert Road outside peak hour. There is parking on site and a bay booked for your arrival. Hawthorn is on the same train line as us: Mitcham and Heatherdale stations are each about 1.5 km from the workshop, so leaving the car and taking the train home works. Nano ceramic particles absorb infrared, the heat you feel through the glass. More on ceramic window tinting. The cabin stays cooler at the same shade, which matters most on dark cars and long drives.
Usually Same Day
A standard car is dropped in the morning and collected in the afternoon. Keep the windows up for two to three days while the adhesive cures, and expect a light haze in the first week that clears on its own.

Old Tint Removed
Purple or bubbled film, the usual end of cheap tint, comes off with heat, including the glue on the demister lines, and the glass is cleaned back before new film goes on. Illegal tint from a previous owner is swapped for a legal shade in the same visit.
