Ceramic Coating Blackburn

Ceramic Coating Blackburn: Done in Mitcham

Blackburn drivers come to Liquid R in Mitcham for ceramic coating. The workshop is about 5.3 km from Blackburn, roughly 10 minutes by car outside peak hour. Ceramic coating starts at $980 on bare paint, including decontamination and machine polish, and new car packages start at $1090.

Preparation is most of the job: a foam pre-wash, iron and tar removal, clay and machine polishing under inspection lights before the coating goes on. We use Gtechniq Crystal Serum Light and Envoke ProCoat+ 7 Year Graphene Coating, cured indoors.

Every quote is a fixed figure before the car is booked, and it is the same whichever suburb you come from. Call 1800 985 880 or text 0483 930 888 to book.

The Drive from Blackburn

The run from Blackburn to Cook Road in Mitcham is about 5.3 km via Whitehorse Road. Outside peak hour that is around 10 minutes, and you park on site when you arrive. Blackburn is on the same train line as us: Mitcham and Heatherdale stations are each about 1.5 km from the workshop, so leaving the car and taking the train home works. Directions and opening hours are on our contact page.

Washing a Coated Car

pH neutral shampoo, a rinse before contact, no brush car washes, and a clean towel or blower to dry, as set out in our guide to washing a coated car. Done that way the coating keeps beading and nothing gritty gets dragged across the paint.

Coating Over PPF

A ceramic layer can go over paint protection film in the same booking for $650. The film takes the stone chips and the coating keeps it easy to wash.

Trees, Birds and Parking Outside

Cars parked on the street or under trees collect sap and bird droppings that etch bare paint in the sun. A coated surface buys time and releases them with a gentle wash.

Gtechniq Trained Since 2015

We have been coating cars in Mitcham since 2015 as Gtechniq trained applicators, and we use the full Gtechniq range every week alongside Envoke graphene in our new car packs.

Wheel Ceramic at $60 a Wheel

Brake dust bakes onto bare alloys and pits the finish. A wheel ceramic, $60 per wheel, handles the heat and lets the dust rinse off before it bonds.

Planning the Visit

Coatings need curing time, so most cars stay with us for a couple of days. Blackburn is close enough that waiting at home while we work is realistic. Saturday mornings are open 8:30am to 12:30pm.

Preparation Decides the Result

Foam pre-wash, two bucket contact wash, iron and tar removal, clay, then machine polishing under inspection lights. Skip any step and you seal dirt and swirls under glass. This preparation, the same work as a cut and polish, is most of the labour and most of the price.

Common Questions

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers before you book. Anything else, call 1800 985 880.

How far is Liquid R from Blackburn?

The workshop at 12/23A Cook Road, Mitcham is about 5.3 km from Blackburn, roughly 10 minutes by car outside peak hour.

Is pricing different for Blackburn?

No. Every price is the same wherever you live. The quote depends on the car and the work, never the postcode.

Do you come to me, or do I bring the car in?

Every job is done at our Mitcham workshop. Film, coatings and tint need clean indoor bays and proper lighting, which a driveway cannot give, and that is what our results depend on.

Can you coat an older car?

Yes. Older paint is decontaminated and corrected first, then coated, and often shows the biggest change.

Ceramic or graphene coating?

Both protect the clear coat. Graphene is slicker and spots less on hot panels, which suits cars parked outside.
