Ceramic or Graphene

Both cure into a hard layer over the clear coat. Graphene adds a slicker finish and lower surface tension, so it spots less on hot panels. If the car sleeps outside, graphene usually earns its extra cost.

Coating Versus Wax

Wax sits on top of the paint and gives up within weeks to sun and shampoo. A ceramic coating bonds and stays for years. Most of our coating customers are former regular waxers who did the sums. More in our ceramic coating myths article.

Mud and Dust Rinse Off

Building site dust and mud from unfinished roads around Tarneit cling to bare paint. On a coated car most of it comes off with a hose before you even reach for a mitt.

Wheel Ceramic at $60 a Wheel

Brake dust bakes onto bare alloys and pits the finish. A wheel ceramic, $60 per wheel, handles the heat and lets the dust rinse off before it bonds.

Why Customers Come to Us

Liquid R has one workshop, in Mitcham, and it is a fair drive from Tarneit. Customers make the trip because the work is done indoors by our own team rather than in a driveway, and we plan the booking so it takes one visit, not several. More about who we are, and if you are comparing shops, our guide to the best ceramic coating in Melbourne lists what to check.

Planning the Visit

Coatings need curing time, so most cars stay with us for a couple of days. From Tarneit, most people bundle work into one visit: tint with a detail, or film with a coating, so the car only makes the trip once. We confirm the timing when you book.

Water Spots and Bore Water

Sprinklers and bore water leave mineral rings that etch bare paint in the sun. Graphene chemistry in particular resists those spots, and a coated panel releases them with a normal wash.

Common Questions

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers before you book. Anything else, call 1800 985 880.

How far is Liquid R from Tarneit?

The workshop at 12/23A Cook Road, Mitcham is about 51.5 km from Tarneit, roughly 65 minutes by car outside peak hour.

Is pricing different for Tarneit?

No. Every price is the same wherever you live. The quote depends on the car and the work, never the postcode.

Do you come to me, or do I bring the car in?

Every job is done at our Mitcham workshop. Film, coatings and tint need clean indoor bays and proper lighting, which a driveway cannot give, and that is what our results depend on.

Does a ceramic coating stop stone chips?

No. It protects against UV, staining, water spots and wash marks. Stone chips need paint protection film.

Is a ceramic coating worth it?

If you keep the car more than a couple of years, usually yes. It replaces the wax cycle and keeps the paint from dulling.
