Dual Layer Upgrade

For owners chasing more durability, packages can be upgraded to a dual layer coating or to Labocosmetica STC and HPC Pro. We will tell you plainly when the standard coating is all your car needs.

Ceramic or Graphene

Both cure into a hard layer over the clear coat. Graphene adds a slicker finish and lower surface tension, so it spots less on hot panels. If the car sleeps outside, graphene usually earns its extra cost.

Road Grime From the Commute

Freeway driving on roads like Monash Freeway coats a car in road film, bugs and brake dust. A ceramic coating lets most of it rinse off, so the car stays clean longer between washes.

Coating Versus Wax

Wax sits on top of the paint and gives up within weeks to sun and shampoo. A ceramic coating bonds and stays for years. Most of our coating customers are former regular waxers who did the sums. More in our ceramic coating myths article.

Oakleigh Customers, One Workshop

Liquid R has one workshop, in Mitcham, and Oakleigh customers come to it. That is deliberate: ceramic coating work needs clean indoor bays and proper lighting that a mobile setup cannot match, and every job is done by our own team. More about who we are, and if you are comparing shops, our guide to the best ceramic coating in Melbourne lists what to check.

Planning the Visit

Coatings need curing time, so most cars stay with us for a couple of days. For Oakleigh customers we line up drop-off and pickup times when you book, so you know exactly which days the car is with us. We are open weekdays 8:30am to 5:00pm and Saturdays to 12:30pm.

Washing a Coated Car

pH neutral shampoo, a rinse before contact, no brush car washes, and a clean towel or blower to dry, as set out in our guide to washing a coated car. Done that way the coating keeps beading and nothing gritty gets dragged across the paint.

Common Questions

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers before you book. Anything else, call 1800 985 880.

How far is Liquid R from Oakleigh?

The workshop at 12/23A Cook Road, Mitcham is about 20.2 km from Oakleigh, roughly 30 minutes by car outside peak hour.

Is pricing different for Oakleigh?

No. Every price is the same wherever you live. The quote depends on the car and the work, never the postcode.

Do you come to me, or do I bring the car in?

Every job is done at our Mitcham workshop. Film, coatings and tint need clean indoor bays and proper lighting, which a driveway cannot give, and that is what our results depend on.

Can you coat an older car?

Yes. Older paint is decontaminated and corrected first, then coated, and often shows the biggest change.

Does my car need correction before coating?

If the paint has swirls or scratches, yes, because the coating seals in what is underneath. New cars usually need only a light polish.
