What Interior Detailing Covers

Carpets and mats are extracted, leather is cleaned and fed, vents and switchgear are brushed out, and odours are removed at the source. A wipe over the dash and a spray of fragrance is not interior detailing, and we do not sell it as one. Our guide to the best car detailing in Melbourne sets out what to look for in any detailer. The same standard runs through our prestige car detailing.

Leather Cleaned and Sealed

Leather is cleaned first, then sealed with a barrier that slows wear and makes spills wipeable. Light coloured leather benefits most, because it shows dye and grime long before it shows wear. Sealing is also part of the interior protection in our new car protection packages.

Carpets, Mats and Odours

Carpets and cloth upholstery get hot water extraction, which lifts the grit and spills a vacuum leaves behind. Smells from spilled milk, sports gear or a wet dog sit in the carpet and seat fabric, so they come out with the dirt instead of being covered over. Mobile operators are fine for a wash and vacuum, but extraction is workshop work. Wagons and SUVs that carry kids and dogs gain the most, as our wagon and SUV guides explain.

Vents, Switches and Gloss Black Trim

Vents, switches and trims are detailed one by one rather than wiped as a whole. Gloss black trim marks easily, and it can be covered with clear paint protection film once it is clean, so fingernails and keys stop scratching it.

White Seats and Denim Dye

White and cream seats shrug off more than people expect, but blue jean dye is their known enemy. Cleaning lifts the early staining, and sealing the seats afterwards stops the slow blue stain coming back. It is a common request from Tesla Model 3 and Model Y owners.

Interior Protection for New Cars

Leather and fabric coatings slow spills soaking in, which is why they are part of Pack 2 and up of our new car packages, from $1090 to $4090. Packs 3 and 4 add 3M window tint, which cuts the UV that fades dashboards and seats. The care routine for protected interiors is on our aftercare page.

Common Questions

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers before you book. Anything else, call 1800 985 880.

How much does interior car detailing cost in Melbourne?

Interior work is quoted after we see the car, because size, materials and condition decide the hours. It is included in all three of our detailing packages, Basic, Deluxe and Premium.

Do you clean leather seats?

Yes. Leather is cleaned and then sealed with a barrier that slows wear and makes spills wipeable. Light coloured leather gains the most.

Can you get smells out of a car interior?

Yes. Odours are removed at the source with hot water extraction of carpets and cloth seats, rather than covered with fragrance.

Do you do mobile interior detailing?

No. Every job is done at our Mitcham workshop, where carpets can be extracted properly and the work is checked under proper lights.

Should I protect the interior after it is cleaned?

It is the best time to. Leather and fabric coatings slow spills soaking in, and they are part of Pack 2 and up of our new car protection packages.
