Keeping It Detailed

The fastest way to waste a detail is a brush car wash on the way home. We hand over a simple routine: pH neutral shampoo, two buckets and a microfibre dry.

Water Spot Removal

Mineral rings from sprinklers and summer rain etch into paint and glass if they sit. Fresh spots wash off, older ones need a dedicated remover or a polish, and we tell you which before we start. Our washing dos and don’ts help stop them coming back.

Detailing a Car Near the Beach

Salt and sand get into door seals, carpets and wheel arches on cars that live near the beach. A detail clears both, and a coating afterwards makes the next clean easier.

Interior Detailing

Carpets and mats extracted, leather cleaned and fed, vents and switchgear brushed out. Sunscreen film on plastics and coffee in the console both come out, and the cabin leaves smelling of nothing. Why it is worth doing properly is covered in the benefits of a premium detail.

Clear Coat Is Finite

Every cut removes a little clear coat, and modern cars leave the factory with less of it than ever. That is why we measure the result as we go and never cut a whole panel hard to chase two scratches. Our guide to a good cut and polish explains why.

St Kilda Customers, One Workshop

Liquid R has one workshop, in Mitcham, and it is a fair drive from St Kilda. Customers make the trip because the work is done indoors by our own team rather than in a driveway, and we plan the booking so it takes one visit, not several. More about who we are, and if you are comparing shops, our guide to the best car detailing in Melbourne lists what to check.

Booking and Turnaround

A maintenance detail is usually a day, and correction runs one to three days. From St Kilda, most people bundle work into one visit: tint with a detail, or film with a coating, so the car only makes the trip once. We confirm the timing when you book.

Detailing Is Not a Car Wash

A proper detail goes further than a wash. A wash removes what is loose. Detailing removes what has bonded: iron particles, tar, tree sap and water minerals baked on by summer. Only then can you see what the paint really looks like.

Common Questions

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers before you book. Anything else, call 1800 985 880.

How far is Liquid R from St Kilda?

The workshop at 12/23A Cook Road, Mitcham is about 26.1 km from St Kilda, roughly 40 minutes by car outside peak hour.

Do St Kilda customers pay the same price?

No. Every price is the same wherever you live. The quote depends on the car and the work, never the postcode.

Do you come to me, or do I bring the car in?

Every job is done at our Mitcham workshop. Film, coatings and tint need clean indoor bays and proper lighting, which a driveway cannot give, and that is what our results depend on.

What is in each detailing package?

Basic is a decontamination wash and interior clean, Deluxe adds machine polish and interior protection, and Premium adds multi-stage correction and protection.

How much is a car detail?

Machine polishing starts from $850. Interior and maintenance details are quoted on the car, and correction is quoted after inspection.
